President Muhammadu Buhari has Appointed a new Neco Registrar
Professor Godswill Obioma has been approved by President Muhammadu Buhari as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Examinations Council (NECO).
According to a letter signed by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, the letter stated that the appointment which is for an initial tenure of five years takes effect from 14th May 2020.
Professor Godswill Obioma is a Professor of Education Measurement and Evaluation and was a former Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Educational Research and Development Council.
Prof. Obioma has been the Ebonyi State Resident Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission before been appointed as the new Registrar of NECO,
The Registrar officially took over the affairs of the Council from the former Acting Registrar, Mallam Abubakar Gana today Friday, 22nd May 2020 at the Council’s headquarters in Minna.
Abubakar Gana was appointed as the acting Registrar of the council since 2018 when prof. Charles Uwakwe was suspended and his appointment terminated by President Muhammadu Buhari alongside four other members of the board on the ground of alleged financial mismanagement of awarding contracts to the tune of N25 billion without following due process.
